skybar

Shopping, dinner and coctails up in the sky. We have spent this Wednesday down town and ended up at the skybar in Hancock Tower.

Good night.

Down on me

Boring Tuseday

I know that I have not been so efficient with the updates on my blog the last couple of days. But after we came back from Mexico it felt like NPU not has that much to offer of happenings.

Yesterday was a bad day. Anything went my way. The morning started out with really big blisters on my feet from that mornings power walk, then I got an omelet filled with cheese even though I ordered it without cheese, therefore I chose to eat scramble eggs instead and they turned out being green...?! After my first lecture I was suppose to pick up my package from Nordstorm and turn myself into better mood, but there was no luck. NPU has lost my package somewhere and I have to go there again today to find it. With other words, yesterday just sucked!

I am on my way to the gym now, and hit the cross-trainer before class.

Presentation

I have got a presentation today in Marketing Research and Consumer Behavior.

I will update the blog this afternoon.

Andersonville

Saturday was spent in Andersonville, which is a Swedish neighborhood where all Swedes’ immigrated during the beginning of the 20ths. We started out visiting the Swedish American museum,  but the best part there was the gift shop with Swedish candy. Somehow J and I lost our Swedish crew and we ended up trying dresses at the store Akria in almost two hours. Before we went home we ate a delicious Italian dinner at Calo.

After this, kind of exhausting, afternoon we were suppose to have a quick powernap before hitting the nightclubs down town. Suddenly I wake up 14 hours later… It was a really good sleep though.

Chi-town

Apparently are not the original inhabitants from Chicago saying Chi-Town. But geeks as we are we will continue to call it just Chi-Town.

Friday afternoon was spent down town. J and I pretty much walked from one side to the other in the sun. I discovered not to buy coffee at 7Eleven. I was totally sure that it was milk I poured into my coffee, but realized as soon as I left the store that it must have been cream/sugar. And I am sure that you do not want to know how much cream it was in my coffee…

J and I were supposed to see the skyline of Chicago from the highest building in the United States, Willis Tower. When we finally got there we found out that it was a two hours queue before we were able to get to the top of the sky scrape. We ended up in a coffee shop instead and watched all the busy people walking by from their offices. It was Friday after all.

We took a cab back to The Water Tower Place for some late night shopping. I bet we were inside Macy’s make-up department in over two hours. All famous brands are so cheap here, I ended up getting a new facial cream from Clairns, mascara, eyeliner and concealer from Dior & make-up remover from Clinique.

Do you like my new fur head band? Guess what aminal!?

Bible phrase

The sun finally showed up yesterday afternoon. J and I took a walk around campus after we had eaten dinner at Tre Kronor.

Now I am up for a power walk and afterwards I will hit the gym.
Happy Friday!

My NPU sweatpants are so comfortable, but they fit really bad...

If you don't have anything important to say, stay quiet

Already Thursday. It feels like this week just started, even though the sun and the heat in Mexico are really remotely. I just had my exam in Psychology and it is time to start studying for my exam in Intermediate Macroeconomics which is due tomorrow. This week is kind of boring, I have and will continue to spend most of my time studying, after all that’s why I am in Chicago at the first place. The upcoming week has more to offer, mainly because all courses are starting their second period which results into more relaxed lectures.

I also have to continue my applications for an extra job during the summer. My summer is nothing I look forward to, since I have got one summer course, one re-exam and a fulltime employment to deal with… I will handle it somehow.

Goes white

I have to waylay now when I have got a tan to use all my white clothes!

Weekly news

I am so sorry for my dull updates here. The second part of the semester just started, and I have already written two assignments and have two upcoming exams in the end of the week. I have seriously more to do now after spring break than I had before?! Sometimes I do not understand the thinking of the professors. Honestly spoken, I think my professors wanted some extra days of vacation too, because since we started this week more than half of my lectures were cancelled due to illness.

My body really needs a good night sleep, so I cannot wait until Saturday. Even though J and I spent our last night of spring break at Hilton, I still feel like I need some more rehabilitation from Mexico. Comically this week is called “the sleep week” at NPU, and I understand why.

It is merely seven weeks left of the semester. How come that times fly? The only thing I do not like with Chicago at the moment is that the spring refuses to show up. Hopefully the sun is out in three weeks when my mum and sis is coming over.

I just have to ad that I have heard the funniest sentence ever the other day; “Oh that fucking almost hurt me!” How can something fucking-almost-hurt?! It does not make sense, which makes it so funny.

I really love this song

I am in Mexico. We are back the 19th of March.

Friday dilemma

I need to find the american substitue to the swedish "resorb". We were at Walgreens yesterday and tried to explain something with dehydration, but that did not work at all....

J just came back from the hairdresser and now we are on the way down town, spending this lovely friday afternoon in the sun.

All the best!

Tangy triple cheese

The best chips ever are the Tangy Triple Cheese for only $1. I am not sure if I dare to tell you that they are even better than Sourcream & Onion back home. Crazy but true.

I am at the moment trying to select what to bring to Cancun. Not that I have a lot to choose from, since I got all my summer clothes in Sweden. As entertainment are J and I listening to carols. I think NPU has driven us doolally with all their praying and church-talk...!

Sunscreen collection

I don't think it is possible to be more sunscreen prepaird than we are right now. I love Clinique's City Block to the face with 40SPF, a really light and smooth sunscreen.

The Big Apple

New York City. It is hard to imagine how much The States really has to offer. Last night J and I booked a flight to the Big Apple over Easter break. New York must be one of few places on earth where it is impossible to get board. Even if I was there last spring, I have so much left to see in that city. Second hand shopping in Soho, Brooklyn, night clubs at Meatpacking District and so much more.

My semester in US is really intense. First spring break in Mexico, then my sister and mum is coming over to Chicago, the week after is NYC and following weeks are the last two at NPU. After final exams are S♥ and his brother coming over and all of us, including J, will travel to Las Vegas and Los Angeles. I love my life right now.

Tacobell-dinner. Yummy!

Sunshine

Finally the sun is shining, I don't think I have seen it in almost a week... This afternoon is my final exam in Marketing, and after that it is almost spring break already. Afterwards I am going to get some weekday luxury as a reward to myself with manicure and pedicure.

6 days left

Monday again and it is just six days left until Spring Break and Mexico, which makes my marketing studies go a bit easier. Tomorrow is the D-day.

I just came back from a coffee at Beijo. I ate one of their delicious muffins, with cinnamon and strawberry, but now it is back to studies and the rest of the afternoon will be spent in the library.

Exam exam exam

The upcoming exam I told you about is the final one in that course, which is lovely since I realized that it was the most boring class I have taken so far. Marketing is such an important part of the organizational structure, but marketing research is not interesting at all. Formulating questionnaires and penetrate the target market into segments and analyzing why people buy a certain product. I am glad though that I chose to take this course, because I had already decided to take a master within marketing management but I have now rapidly changed my mind. I will do a master in management and organizational development instead, which is what I want to work with later on in my career.

I was on my way to the gym this morning, and I am still on my way so to say. I have been studying for a couple of hours now and I need a break. I hope it will stop snowing in a bit… This gives me a reason to watch an episode of the OC while I am waiting.

I am from now on ready for Mexico

Friday Happenings

The best nights are always the unprepared ones. This soaking-rain-night has been spent with a lot of funny and nice people. We started out eating at one of the best restaurants around here until all of us got kind of a food coma. Somehow afterwards we ended up at the cinema and saw The Adjustment Bureau. Of course I wanted to get some popcorn, and the drinks we got to the meal were the biggest ever! I don’t think I ever seen a soda container that big before, which reminded me anew that I am in the States.

At least some study was done in the library

Yummy Buffe

Have a good night.

Friday 04.03.11

Exam-studying-weekend. This weekend is not going to be as funny as all other weekends here, since we got a final exam in Marketing Research and Consumer Behavior on Tuesday next up coming week.

My Mummy and sis finally booked their tickets to Chicago yesterday. They will now spend almost a week here and hopefully the weather has turned into a lovely spring.

Dinner for two

This is the second time in two months that I have descided what to eat for dinner. Tonight's menu: shrimps (or prawns..!) with garlic bread, ceasar salad and mini-carrots (and some extra chicken-wings to J), which was served with wine on floor. Life is carzy sometimes. I must have been a really boring date though, because J fell asleep almost before I was done eating! That's good for me, becasue now I got all cheese chips and coke by myself.

Hunter Socks

Two pairs of Hunter Socks are on the way home to me. I really love the leopard patterned once, they will be perfect to my leopard patterned umbrella.

Today it is only nine days left until SPRING BREAK! Can't wait! Mexico will just be so much fun.
