Hide and seek
Chicago
Earwax
After an hour in a cab trying to find the DHL-department at O'Hare airport, we were well-worth one of the best burgers in town. The name of the restaurant in Wicker Park was Earwax, how funny! Of course, the Marc Jacobs store closed before we ended up finding it, which was kind of annoying...
I just came back from Starbucks, I had a coffee with A, we had a little catch up. I have not really spoken to him since we came back from Mexico. Wierd! The plan for tonight is dinner at the Ralph Lauren Restaurant.
At least someone looks extremely happy at Earwax
Busy Life
I know that updates in my blog is not continuous anymore. I am aware of that. We are just up to so much all the time, and I know you loyal readers want me to enjoy my stay.
The spring is finally here. I used my new trench coat from Michael Kors yesterday. I hope the warm weather is here to stay at least the forecast for next week says 18°, which will be awesome when my mum and sis are over.
I came back from the gym recently. I miss Friskis&Svettis so much, I came to the conclusion today that I admire all guys that tend to be in the gym every day, year after year. The gym environment is just so boring. It is way more inspiring to attend gym classes the issue is just that none of the classes here at NPU fit my schedule. Therefore, I have to stand the gym a couple of more weeks. Actually, since I started to power walk every morning, my day feels so much easier. I bet it is the fresh air that is giving me a kick!
J and I are going to Wicker Park this afternoon. I heard gossip that Marc by Marc Jacobs has their new collection in store. And, who does not love Marc Jacobs?!
Time to have a shower.
Monday luxury
J and I went, as I said, Down Town yesterday. I just do not understand how I will manage my life when I come back to Sweden, Chicago has so much more to offer. We ate dinner at Grand Lux Café. From our window seat we did have the greatest view over the Magnificent Mile and the Chicago sky scrapes’. Drinking a glass of wine while we were watching all people walking by was the luxury of our Monday afternoon.
I also bought a pair of heels from Micheal Kors. It was definitely love at the first sight! We also got invited to a VIP-party tomorrow at the store Akira. This week started out pretty good, so to speak.
Monday
Included this Monday which just started, it is only six Mondays left of the semester. Crazy! Finally it is getting warmer in the Windy City, yesterday it was 21°C even if it was cloudy.
I realized this morning that we got a new omelet chef in the dining hall, how awesome isn't that? So now when I have savored my breakfast I will continue my morning doing some homework before I will hit the gym.
After my lectures, J and I will spend our afternoon Down Town. I hope the sun comes out and we can have a walk down at Navy Pier.
Outside our window right now
57 minutes
I have spent 57 minutes at the cross-trainer today. I think I need an Anna Skipper boost when I come to Sweden. A brief guess, I have probably gained 5kg since I came to Chicago. I would say it is a pretty damn good work in just 12 weeks....! All this food, cheese and alcohol! Honestly, whatever I will lose those kilos when I get back. Why care too much now when I am here, I love my life at the moment. I believe that it will never be this easy again.
With other words, I enjoy my stay as much as I can.
Have a good night.
C & A
I am so happy at the moment. I had a skype-date with my best friend yesterday, she currently came back from Vietnamn so I have not spoken to her in a long time. She told me that she is moving back to Malmö in June. That was one of the best things that could happen right now! My summer seemes to turn out pretty good after all.
I am still so tired from Cuvee and I will return to my OC-marathon.
Have a good night.
Cuvee
Last night was just so much fun! The night started at Bellmont where we met an old friend of mine from Sweden. I haven't seen him in five years, and it was great to catch up. After a couple of drinks we took a cab to Boys Town. The area is really named Boys Town, which is exactly what it sounds like - a gay area. Oh my God! Scarlet was the funniest bar I ever discovered. All boys were running around in their underwears dancing and drinking. After this new experience J and I ended up at one of Chicago’s number one night clubs Cuvee. Shortly, this bar offered champagne, VIP and old rich men. This night was crazy!
Sadly though, I forgot to bring my memory card to my camera which resulted in only one picture from last night.
skybar
Shopping, dinner and coctails up in the sky. We have spent this Wednesday down town and ended up at the skybar in Hancock Tower.
Good night.
Down on me
Boring Tuseday
I know that I have not been so efficient with the updates on my blog the last couple of days. But after we came back from Mexico it felt like NPU not has that much to offer of happenings.
Yesterday was a bad day. Anything went my way. The morning started out with really big blisters on my feet from that mornings power walk, then I got an omelet filled with cheese even though I ordered it without cheese, therefore I chose to eat scramble eggs instead and they turned out being green...?! After my first lecture I was suppose to pick up my package from Nordstorm and turn myself into better mood, but there was no luck. NPU has lost my package somewhere and I have to go there again today to find it. With other words, yesterday just sucked!
I am on my way to the gym now, and hit the cross-trainer before class.
Presentation
I will update the blog this afternoon.
Andersonville
Saturday was spent in Andersonville, which is a Swedish neighborhood where all Swedes’ immigrated during the beginning of the 20ths. We started out visiting the Swedish American museum, but the best part there was the gift shop with Swedish candy. Somehow J and I lost our Swedish crew and we ended up trying dresses at the store Akria in almost two hours. Before we went home we ate a delicious Italian dinner at Calo.
After this, kind of exhausting, afternoon we were suppose to
have a quick powernap before hitting the nightclubs down town. Suddenly I wake up 14 hours later… It was a really good sleep though.
Chi-town
Apparently are not the original inhabitants from Chicago saying Chi-Town. But geeks as we are we will continue to call it just Chi-Town.
Friday afternoon was spent down town. J and I pretty much walked from one side to the other in the sun. I discovered not to buy coffee at 7Eleven. I was totally sure that it was milk I poured into my coffee, but realized as soon as I left the store that it must have been cream/sugar. And I am sure that you do not want to know how much cream it was in my coffee…
J and I were supposed to see the skyline of Chicago from the highest building in the United States, Willis Tower. When we finally got there we found out that it was a two hours queue before we were able to get to the top of the sky scrape. We ended up in a coffee shop instead and watched all the busy people walking by from their offices. It was Friday after all.
We took a cab back to The Water Tower Place for some late night shopping. I bet we were inside Macy’s make-up department in over two hours. All famous brands are so cheap here, I ended up getting a new facial cream from Clairns, mascara, eyeliner and concealer from Dior & make-up remover from Clinique.
Do you like my new fur head band? Guess what aminal!?
Bible phrase
Now I am up for a power walk and afterwards I will hit the gym.
Happy Friday!
My NPU sweatpants are so comfortable, but they fit really bad...

US has so way better taste of music than Sweden
If you don't have anything important to say, stay quiet
Already Thursday. It feels like this week just started, even though the sun and the heat in Mexico are really remotely. I just had my exam in Psychology and it is time to start studying for my exam in Intermediate Macroeconomics which is due tomorrow. This week is kind of boring, I have and will continue to spend most of my time studying, after all that’s why I am in Chicago at the first place. The upcoming week has more to offer, mainly because all courses are starting their second period which results into more relaxed lectures.
I also have to continue my applications for an extra job during the summer. My summer is nothing I look forward to, since I have got one summer course, one re-exam and a fulltime employment to deal with… I will handle it somehow.
