Navy Pier
Since the sun was shining the first time in five days we ended up down town at Navy Pier. After some a little snack in the sun we went for a ride in the Ferris wheel. It was such a fantastic view over the Chicago skyline from the top of it.
My weekend this week seems to be pretty boring. After my work out at the gym I will spend the rest of the day studying. Hopefully something fun will happen tonight.
Royal Wedding
I almost forgot that I am invited to a wedding tomorrow! What to wear? Are you going too?
I am just kidding. I just set my alarm clock at 04.45 am since the Royal Wedding in England starts at 5am Chicago-time. I can’t wait to see all beautiful dresses, white horses and handsome guys. This is the biggest event in England since 1981 when Prince Charles and Diana got married.
I came back from the gym a couple of minutes ago and I need to get ready for my beauty sleep right away.
Good night!
Both of my favorites at the same place
Thursday after-work. How funny! S♥ and sis sitting in the sofa drinking beer and skyping with me. I miss you both so much!
NYC 2011
Back in Chicago
Destination NYC
Just two lectures left and then the cab is waiting. I am so excited!
I have forgotten to show you what mum gave me. I got the biggest Easter egg ever! With almost three kilos of Swedish candy. How crazy! I had almost forgotten how tasty Swedish candy really is. It will be a challenge though to finish it before the semester ends.
It is hard to choose
4.5 miles on the treadmill and a hot shower. I am now ready to finish my packing. It is way too hard to select.
Got to go. Johan and J is waiting for me, we are going to play Phase Ten and I need to keep my position as a Phase Ten Master!
The Big Apple
Tomorrow at 6pm are we on the way to NYC. I really hope the weather will be nice. The forecast does not look too sanguine, pretty much rain the whole weekend. Lucky us we booked our accommodation at Hilton. If the weather turns out being too crappy we can always spend the time at the gym or in the Jacuzzi.
This weekend is only pleasure, with other words no shopping or accepts from awesome second hand shopping in Soho. We will just spend our time in the Big Apple drinking cocktails, partying in Meatpacking District and enjoying the NYC atmosphere with all it has to offer.
Now it is time for me to get ready. I have to get some study done before class.
Hot spots
I promised you yesterday to show you some of my latest shopping. My best purchase was definitely the wallet. I have been looking for a new one forever, and I finally found this in a perfect size.
A black Blazer from Ralph Lauren
Knitted jumpers from Ralph Lauren
A wallet and sunglases from Etienne Aigner

Family-weekend
Today's outfit
Shanghai University
I have to annonce that I have officially turned down my opportunity to make my next exchange semester at Shanghai University. I will instead do my final courses at the University of Lund.
A good or bad decision?!
Who knows...
Lecture cancelled
I hate when the professors do not send an e-mail before class if it is supposed to be cancelled! Especially when we are going to have an exam on Thursday or it is probably moved to next week. Instead of psychology class I ended up in the library with a large coffee and my psychology book before lunch. And I am now back in bed after a chicken stir fry for lunch. I just hate Tuesday- and Thursday-afternoon since my Marketing Research and Consumer Behavior class is so boring!
The sun is still shining over Chi-Town, but the wind is way chillier today than yesterday. The sun felt so nice this morning when I was out power walking, I was totally sure that today was going to be an awesome day. Sometime you should not listen to your instinct!
Never mind, I have to finish my psychology before next class starts. The rest of the afternoon will be spent with my Intermediate Macroeconomics books.
Flower-Power
Today's outfit is a flower-power dress. Wearing colorful clothes always turns me into a better mood!
Good morning
The weather is back on normal again after yesterday's taste of summer.
I am on my way to the gym. Need to do a real workout before class today, since I have got an unprepared exam this afternoon in Intermediate Macroeconomics. I will spend the rest of the day in the library studying to my exam on Thursday in Psychology.
I am so sick of all food at the moment. Last night I dreamt about Swedish knäckebröd and filmjölk. We almost skipped dinner last night, since we cannot stand all the greasy food anymore. Suddenly, five weeks feels like a really long time.
shoe-heaven
I bought some new shoes yesterday, and I can proudly present that I am ready for spring - 2011.
Summer
It is 28º outside today. We have been playing cards, football and relaxed in the sun the whole afternoon. It will probably be an enormous thunderstorm tonight, again. The weather forecast for next week is still good, around 15º and sun. Perfect for all our trips we are going to do. The rest of the night will be spent with my books. I have to get all studying done before Wednesday, which forces me to start right now.
Tourists
J and I have been tourists in Chicago during this marvelous day of sun. Our tour started out at the Navy Pier. After a nice walk beside tons of other people and pretzels we continued the sightseeing to the Millennium Park to see the Chicago Bean. It is kind of a weird statue placed in the middle of all sky scrapes’. Since the sun was so warm today we continued to walk up Michigan Ave until we were back at the Water Tower Place.

Ghost on the eights floor
I heard from some random talk in the beginning of the semester that it is apparently a ghost on the eights floor in our dorm. I, who never believe in ghost stories or supernatural powers, did not pay much attention to it.
Until… The other night after J and I had gone to bed something happened. It was a normal Thursday, and we went to bed around midnight. Suddenly, around three in the morning both of us woke up from a really noisy sound. My thirst thought was that some of the freshman’s on our floor had gone bananas with the vacuum cleaner. J jumped up from her bed, even though she was still sleepy and run around in the room to find out where the sound came from. And now to the scariest part, it was our hairdryer which was on. How is it even possible for the hairdryer to turn on in the middle of the night by itself? Creepy if you want to hear my opinion.
Hide and seek
Chicago
Earwax
After an hour in a cab trying to find the DHL-department at O'Hare airport, we were well-worth one of the best burgers in town. The name of the restaurant in Wicker Park was Earwax, how funny! Of course, the Marc Jacobs store closed before we ended up finding it, which was kind of annoying...
I just came back from Starbucks, I had a coffee with A, we had a little catch up. I have not really spoken to him since we came back from Mexico. Wierd! The plan for tonight is dinner at the Ralph Lauren Restaurant.
At least someone looks extremely happy at Earwax
Busy Life
I know that updates in my blog is not continuous anymore. I am aware of that. We are just up to so much all the time, and I know you loyal readers want me to enjoy my stay.
The spring is finally here. I used my new trench coat from Michael Kors yesterday. I hope the warm weather is here to stay at least the forecast for next week says 18°, which will be awesome when my mum and sis are over.
I came back from the gym recently. I miss Friskis&Svettis so much, I came to the conclusion today that I admire all guys that tend to be in the gym every day, year after year. The gym environment is just so boring. It is way more inspiring to attend gym classes the issue is just that none of the classes here at NPU fit my schedule. Therefore, I have to stand the gym a couple of more weeks. Actually, since I started to power walk every morning, my day feels so much easier. I bet it is the fresh air that is giving me a kick!
J and I are going to Wicker Park this afternoon. I heard gossip that Marc by Marc Jacobs has their new collection in store. And, who does not love Marc Jacobs?!
Time to have a shower.
Monday luxury
J and I went, as I said, Down Town yesterday. I just do not understand how I will manage my life when I come back to Sweden, Chicago has so much more to offer. We ate dinner at Grand Lux Café. From our window seat we did have the greatest view over the Magnificent Mile and the Chicago sky scrapes’. Drinking a glass of wine while we were watching all people walking by was the luxury of our Monday afternoon.
I also bought a pair of heels from Micheal Kors. It was definitely love at the first sight! We also got invited to a VIP-party tomorrow at the store Akira. This week started out pretty good, so to speak.
Monday
Included this Monday which just started, it is only six Mondays left of the semester. Crazy! Finally it is getting warmer in the Windy City, yesterday it was 21°C even if it was cloudy.
I realized this morning that we got a new omelet chef in the dining hall, how awesome isn't that? So now when I have savored my breakfast I will continue my morning doing some homework before I will hit the gym.
After my lectures, J and I will spend our afternoon Down Town. I hope the sun comes out and we can have a walk down at Navy Pier.
Outside our window right now
57 minutes
I have spent 57 minutes at the cross-trainer today. I think I need an Anna Skipper boost when I come to Sweden. A brief guess, I have probably gained 5kg since I came to Chicago. I would say it is a pretty damn good work in just 12 weeks....! All this food, cheese and alcohol! Honestly, whatever I will lose those kilos when I get back. Why care too much now when I am here, I love my life at the moment. I believe that it will never be this easy again.
With other words, I enjoy my stay as much as I can.
Have a good night.
C & A
I am so happy at the moment. I had a skype-date with my best friend yesterday, she currently came back from Vietnamn so I have not spoken to her in a long time. She told me that she is moving back to Malmö in June. That was one of the best things that could happen right now! My summer seemes to turn out pretty good after all.
I am still so tired from Cuvee and I will return to my OC-marathon.
Have a good night.
Cuvee
Last night was just so much fun! The night started at Bellmont where we met an old friend of mine from Sweden. I haven't seen him in five years, and it was great to catch up. After a couple of drinks we took a cab to Boys Town. The area is really named Boys Town, which is exactly what it sounds like - a gay area. Oh my God! Scarlet was the funniest bar I ever discovered. All boys were running around in their underwears dancing and drinking. After this new experience J and I ended up at one of Chicago’s number one night clubs Cuvee. Shortly, this bar offered champagne, VIP and old rich men. This night was crazy!
Sadly though, I forgot to bring my memory card to my camera which resulted in only one picture from last night.
